Nancy Drew #5: The Secret of Shadow Ranch by Carolyn Keene Book Review!

Hi guy!

Time for another Nancy Drew review! This time I'm reviewing the fifth book in the series: The Secret of Shadow Ranch. The book was originally published in 1931 and was titled Secret "at" Shadow Ranch, but I own the 1960's rewrite, so I'm going to review that version.

Nancy goes to Phoenix, Arizona with her best friends Bess Marvin and Bess's her cousin George Fayen to stay at Shadow Ranch, which is owned by Bess and George's aunt and uncle. Some weird things are happening at Shadow Ranch, for one thing there's a phantom hoarse is haunting the ranch, and an outlaw named Dirk Valentine supposedly hid treasure for his girlfriend back in the late 1800's and has yet to be found. And Bess and George's cousin Alice tries to find her missing father.

This is the first book to introduce Bess and George. I love Nancy friendship with the cousins. Even though Bess and George are very close, there are also polar opposites. Bess is a girly-girl who gets scared easily. George is kind of a tomboy who doesn't scare easy. I noticed that Nancy kind of balances Bess and George out. Nancy can be girly at times, but she's also not afraid to get her hands dirty. Out of all of Nancy's sidekicks, I love Bess and George the most (or maybe it's a tie between them and Ned).

I like that some of the parts from the book were in the PC game based off the book. On a side note: If you have not played any of the Nancy Drew games by HeR Interactive, I highly recommend you do. They're amazing, and they follow the books really well.

The mystery was pretty much the same as it is in the game. People are after Dirk Valentine's treasure and Nancy has to find it first. I also like that the part where Nancy finding Dave in the spring house appeared in the game.

I like the places they go to in this book. I love the ghost town, and the cliff dwellings the most.

That's all I have to say.

Until Next time.

Nancy Drew #4: The Mystery at Lilac Inn by Carolyn Keene Book Review!

Hello!

It's time to review another Nancy Drew book. I'm gonna review the fourth book in the Nancy drew Mystery series, The Mystery at Lilac Inn.

In this book Nancy and Helen go to Lilac Inn to help their friend Emily with her wedding. But weird things are happening at Lilac Inn, and to make matters worse someone going around pretending to be Nancy.

I liked this book a lot. I loved the characters, except, you know, the villain. Another character I didn't like was Maud. She was so rude to everyone, and she was always quick to accuse Nancy of everything. Not to mention she flirted with Nancy's Dad.

It's interesting that the villain  was three people including Nancy. I dislike her more then any other ND villain ever.

I also recommend listening to Nancy Drew books on audiobooks, but I don't recommend falling asleep to them, and yes I'm speaking from personal experience. I was listening to this book on audiobook, I closed my eyes, and then scary music played loud and clear in my ears.

My favorite parts are when Helen goes for a walk at night and sees the so called ghost before getting knocked out, when Nancy impersonates the ghost and sees her own impersonator, and I really like the whole climax where Nancy is with the villains in the submarine and the boat.

I love this book! It's full of good characters and a lot of mystery and drama to keep you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Than't all fo now

Bye!

Nancy Drew #3: The Bungalow Mystery by Carolyn Keene Book Review!

Hello everyone!

Time for another Nancy Drew book review.  The Bungalow Mystery is the third Nancy Drew book, and just happens to be one of my favorites.

In this book Nancy and her friend Helen meet a girl named Laura. Laura's guardians treat her very poorly, so she asks Nancy to help her.  Meanwhile, Nancy helps her dad with an embezzlement case.

This book turned out way better then I'd thought it would. This book kept me sitting at the edge of my seat. One of the best Nancy Drew books I've ever read.

Nancy is an awesome character as always.  And she knows automobile mechanics.  Is there anything she can't do?

We don't see a whole lot of Helen in this book; she's in the beginning of the book but that's pretty much it. But she's still a good character. Laura is also a good character; and, of course, I love Nancy's dad and Hannah.

All of my favorite parts are the bungalow scenes, like when Nancy went there to follow Laura's guardian, and when she went to the bungalow at night and her flashlight burnt out.  It was a little scary to listen to this on audiobook.

I highly recommend this book.

That's it for now.

Bye!

Little House On the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder Book Review!

Hi everyone!

Today I'm reviewing Little House On the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

In this book the Ingalls family leave the Big Woods of Wisconsin due to the fact that so many people are moving into the woods and scaring of animals. they go of into Indian territory where many hardships await them.

This is the most popular book of the series. This is also the first book where the Ingalls family go threw hardships such as wolf packs, prairie fires, sickness, and Indian war cries. It definitely made the book a lot more interesting.

Laura still remains my favorite character. I love her relationship with Charles and Jack. I love like Caroline and Mary.

In this book we are introduced to a new character named Mr. Edwards. Edwards becomes good friend with Charles and Laura, but Caroline think him to be uncivilized. Though Mr. Edwards may not be my favorite character of the book, I still like him. He was basically the same as he is in the show (which I also love by the way).

I don't really have a favorite part, but the part with the wolf pack and the Indians really stand out to me.

This was a really good book. I really enjoyed it.

Until next time!

Nancy Drew #2: The Hidden Staircase by Carolyn Keene Book Review!

Hi!

I'm back with another Nancy Drew book review! This time I'm reviewing the second book. in the series: The Hidden Staircase, which happens to be one of my favorites.

Nancy's friend, Helen, asks her to come to Twin Elms Manor and solve a ghost haunting for Helen's great-aunt and great-grandmother. And Nancy's dad's life is in danger.

I Probably should have mentioned this in my last ND review, but I love Nancy's relationship with her dad and their house keeper, Hannah. Carson Drew is one of my favorite fictional dads', and Hannah is a really sweet, motherly figure toward Nancy.

We see more of Helen then we did in the last book. Helen is also engaged to a man named Jim Archer (who is also in the Secret of the Old Clock game). Helen's great-grandmother and great-aunt Rosemary are also nice characters.

All the haunting at Twin Elms Manor was kind of cool, like when the chandelier started swing,  and music played out of nowhere, the owl in the house, etc.

Then the book gets more intense when Nancy's dad gets kidnapped by the people who are trying to make Helen's great-grandmother sell Twin Elms. Not cool.

One of my favorite parts of the book was when Nancy and Helen are exploring Riverveiw Manor and find the hidden staircase. That part was good and also a little bit scary.

And Nancy's dad is okay! Yay!

Well, that's it for now.

Bye

Catalyst by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Hi!

I'm back and I'm finally reviewing Catalyst, which is the third book in the Collide series by Shelly Crane.

Taking place immediately after Uprising, Sherry being tortured by the Lighters. but is saved by her friends. Cain has completely fallen for Lillian, and Lily's powers are getting stronger.

SPOILER ALERT!

One my favorite things in this series is the relationship between Sherry and Merrick, and their daughter Lily. It just so adorable and I love it! Sherry and Merrick are one of OTPs. I love them so much!

Another couple that's adorable is Jeff and Marissa. They are so cute, especially in this book. I TOTALLY KNOW SHE WAS PREGNANT! I WAS RIGHT! I love that the four year-old knew she was pregnant and just dropped the ball in front of everyone!

Cain and Lillian are one of my favorite couples of the series. They are amazing, and just so lovable. At this point they obviously are in love with each other.

Danial is okay. He a really good guy. I just tend to get a little territorial about my OTPs so everytime he talked about how much he loves Lillian I kind of was like "NO! NO! HECK NO!" But really, Danial is a good guy.

And holy cow! That ending! What a cliffhanger! What the heck!!!

But seriously, this book is awesome, and I highly recommend it.

Bye for now!

Little House In the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder Book Review!

Hi!

I'm now finally going to review the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, starting with the first one: Little House In the Big Woods.

The book is about a little girl named Laura Ingalls who lives in the big wood of Wisconsin with her Pa and Ma (Charles and Caroline Ingalls), her older sister Mary and Baby siser Carrie, and their bulldog Jack. The series tells about the Ingalls family's life in the big woods.

I love Laura and her family.  Laura is almost very different from Mary; Mary has blond curls and is more ladylike, and Laura has brown hair and is more of an adventurous tomboy. I love Charles and Caroline. I think they're great. I love the parts where Charles plays the fiddle. I love the stories that Pa tells Mary and Laura, like the panther, and the bear.

I like that the book and the rest of the series shows how different a lot of things were way back then, like the colors of hair ribbons Laura and Mary had to wear because of their hair colors. and the bonnets, and just the life style as a whole was very different.

I love this book and this series. I will continue to read it no matter how old I get.

That's all for now.

Bye

Nancy Drew #1: The Secret of the Old Clock by Carolyn Keene Book Review!

Hello!

Today I'm gonna review the very first Nancy Drew book (or at least the 1959 rewrite). I am a huge fan of both the Nancy Drew books and PC games.

The book starts with Nancy tries to find the missing will of Josiah Crowley, who supposedly promised to leave hos relatives a lot of money, but in his first will he left every thing to the Topham family.

Let my start by saying Nancy is awesome! She is and always will be one of my favorite female fictional character.

This book also show Nancy's friend, Helen Corning. I like Helen, but I like Bess and George way more.

We also meet the Topham family and they are really horrible people, at least the daughters are.

One thing I like about Nancy Drew, especially books one though four, whenever something scary happens it keeps you at the end of your seat and leaves you wanting more (at least for me it does). Evan when Nancy is just standing in an abandon house alone it makes you fell like What's gonna happen? What is she gonna do? Nancy! Run!

The most suspenseful parts for me is when Nancy was at the cottage and the thieves show up, and when she took the clock before the thieves could catch her.

I really love this book. You are never to old for Nancy Drew.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins Book Review!

Hi everyone!

Now I'm FINALLY reviewing Anna an the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

Spoiler alert!

Anna's parents sending to attend high school in France, which she thinks is the worst thing ever, until she meets a certain boy.

Although Anna may not be my favorite main character, I like just fine. As a character, Anna is pretty cool, and I would like to be her friend.

I really like St. Clair. Anna and St. Clair's relationship is both sweet yet heartbreaking. St. Clair can so sweet. And He's just so cocky and lovable that he can pretty much weasel his way into anywhere. I also love St. Clair's friendship with Josh.

Josh is probably my favorite side character of the book. I didn't really like josh and Rashmi's relationship. It's not that I don't like Rashmi, but after reading the synopsis of Isla and the Happily Ever After I was kind of sold on who I shipped with. And the fact that Isla appears in this book was cool.

I really, really love the ending. It's my favorite part of the book, but just like the ending of the How to Love. Anna and St. Clair got together at the very end of the story, and even though it was a solid ending, my shipper heart wanted more.

I really liked this book and I definitely recommend it.

Well, that's all for now. Bye!

The One by Kiera Cass Book Review!

I'm finally reviewing The One, which is the third book in The Selection series by Kiera Cass. This is, by far, my favorite book in the series.

I don't know where to start. How about I start with saying AMERICA AND MAXON ARE TOGETHER!!! NOW I CAN DIE HAPPY!!! To be honest accidentally had it spoiled for that America chose Maxon, but I didn't really care because that's what I wanted.

I guess the one thing that was annoying was that they just wouldn't say that they loved each other in the beginning of this book. There was a part where America say that she's not going to say it first. Really America? I love the part when they finally say I love you to each other, and I love the part when Maxon tells her to call him her royal husbandness was really cute.

And Aspen and Lucy! I ship it! I like Aspen more in this book then the last two books. I don't hate Aspen, I just don't like it when someone tries to get in the way of my OTP. I think Aspen and Lucy make a great couple.

I'm a little sad that some characters I liked died, but I'm really happy my favorite characters are alive!

And then there's Celeste, who I didn't like at all in books one and two was now being nice and supportive and almost all I could think is 'Who are you and what have you done with Celeste?' Not that her being nice was a bad, it was just so unlike her, but I'm glad she had a change of heart, until, you know, the end.

I love this book! It was both heartbreaking and heartmending, and the ending was amazing!!! I NEED THE HEIR NOW KIERA CASS!!!

The Elite by Kiera Cass Book Review!

I'm now going to review The Elite, which is the second book in The Selection series by Kiera Cass. WARNING: SPOILERS!

Here's a short summary. America is confused about her feelings for Maxon and Aspen. Told you it was short.

I'm the kind of person who watches reviews on YouTube so I kind of knew a little about what happened in this book, but I didn't know exactly what I was getting myself into until I read. I love this book but I agree with CassJayTuck when I say that this book was frustrating in good way.

Most of the book America being with Maxon one minute and then Aspen the next. I mentioned in my review for The Selection that I don't like Aspen and America as a couple. At all. And by the time I read this book I was at the point where I wanted Aspen to leave because he was annoying me. And there were part when Maxon kind of got on my nerves, like seeing him make out with Celeste. As for America, I actually kind of like her. Some people who read the books really don't seem to like that much, but I do. Yeah, she's not my favorite heroin in all of book history, but she's okay.

The parts I did like has to be the cute Maxerica parts. I ship them so much!

There were also scenes that made my jaw drop to the floor, and one of the was the whole thing with Marlee. That scene was so sad but it was sweet that Carter was trying to reassure her that everything will be okay, and then they got married which I thought was sweet.

I don't like the king at all. He's such a horrible person! And the part where Maxon and America are in the room together and he shows her his back that whole scene just made my sad and he said that he should have proposed that night in her room, and she said that she should have let him, and by that point I was crying.

Another part that made my jaw drop was America attacking Celeste. I was expecting her to punch Celeste, but then that happened. Celeste did deserve it, but I don't really now how I feel about that scene.

I really do like this book, but, honestly, it's not my favorite of the series.

The Selection by Kiera Cass Book Review!

I'm back with another review! This time I'm reviewing The Selection which is the first book in the Selection trilogy by Kiera Cass. I loved this book!!!

Everyone in the country of Illea are rated by the caste system starting from One to Eight and your caste determines her occupation, pretty much. America Singer, a Five is in love with Aspen, a Six, who tells her to enter the Selection. Whoever wins the Selection gets to marry Prince Maxon. When America meets Maxon he's nothing like she thought he was and starts falling for him, not sure if she should choose Aspen or Maxon.

I ship Maxon and America so hard! For me the boat of 'Who Do I Ship With America' sailed when I first saw Maxon. When I saw Aspen and America being all couple-y I felt nothing and Aspen kept reminding me of Gale from The Hunger Games. But when I saw Maxon and America together I couldn't help smiling. And when Aspen came back into the picture near the end of the book I wanted him to leave. I have nothing against Aspen, I just don't really like him that much. And if you read my reviews you know how I feel about love triangles.

I love Maxon's character. He's so different from every guy in every YA book that I read so far. He's so polite, and compassionate, and just a gentleman which was very nice to see.

And then there's Celeste who I REALLY don't like! Her character reminds me of Nellie Olsen from the Little House books. I like Marlee and America's friendship, and it was nice to see that not all of the girls were competitive and were nice to America.

And let's take a moment and look at the book cover. That's one of the reasons why I love this series: the covers are beautiful and the dresses are so pretty!

I saw some people say that this book is "too girly", but I'm perfectly fine with that. The Selection isn't The hunger Games, or Divergent, or Legend and I like those books and all, but sometimes it's nice to have a change and this was a change I liked.

All in all, this was a great book, and I want to read The Elite.

Anne's House of Dreams by L. M. Montgomery Book Review!

Anne's House of Dreams is the fifth book in the Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Normally when I read a series I would review all the books in order, but I don't own books four and six so I just going to skip them for now. WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS INCLUDING THE DEATH OF A CHARACTER!!!

After three years of waiting, Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe are finally married. They move away from Avonlea to Four Winds to their house of dreams. Gilbert is a successful doctor. Anne befriends with Leslie Moore, a young woman who keeps to herself. The book shows the first three years of Anne and Gilbert's marriage.

It's a little sad that Anne moved away from Avonlea, but Four Winds is also very pretty. Out of all of Anne and Gilbert's neighbors I liked Captain Jim the most. He told some interesting stories, and he was very sweet. I'm happy is life book was written. And the fact that he died after finishing it, and when Gilbert said Captain Jim had crossed the bar made me cry.

I do't really like Miss Cornelia. She kind of reminds me of Rachel Lynde. She doesn't seem to like men very much and whenever she talks about them she the sentence by saying "Just like a man." I find this a little ironic because at the end of this book Miss Cornelia marries Marshall Elliott.

I like Leslie. She is quiet, and is very privet about her life. Leslie sometimes is jealous of Anne because Anne has a loving husband and a baby on the way. Leslie and Anne become good friends, and she marries Owen Ford. Leslie is a good character and I do like her friendship with Anne and I like that they stay friends in the future, but their friendship kind of makes me miss Anne and Diana's friendship.

Another part that made me cry was when Anne gives birth to Joyce, but Joyce doesn't survive. That whole part was just heartbreaking.

I like that we also see some familiar faces such as Marilla, Diana, Jane Andrews, Miss Lavendar, Charlotta the Fourth, Paul Irving, and even Phillipa Gordon

Even tough this isn't my favorite book of the series, I enjoyed it.

Uprising by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Today I'm reviewing Uprising by Shelly Crane, which is the second book in the Collide series. WARNING: SPOILERS!!!

So much happens in this book. Sherry and Merrick's little group is getting bigger and bigger, and the Taker is getting creepier and creepier. The Specials getting strange powers for no apparent reason (This technically happened in the last book, but I forgot to mention it).

What makes this book different from the last one is that we get Cain and Lillian's POV's, not just Sherry and Merrick's. I love Cain and Lillian! We also get the Taker's POV sometimes, too.

Shelly Crane really pulled on my my heart strings this time. Cain and Lillian are so cute! They are so good together that you can't help but ship it. And Jeff and Marissa finally got together! The are so cute and everyone finding out was hilarious. If you're anything like me then you'll have four or five OTPs by the end of the series.

Cain at one point admits that he is in love with Sherry. I disliked that part not because I didn't like Cain, but because I really don't like love triangles. But Cain is a really good guy and doesn't act on his feelings toward Sherry. All in all I really like Cain's relationship with Sherry and Merrick.

I also like Lillian and Sherry's friendship. In the last book Lillian was in, like, one part (she may have been in more but I don't remember). After her husband's death, Lillian is trying to move on and seems to really drawn to Cain. I really love the part when Lillian goes to rescue Cain.

And then Shelly Crane did a thing that broke my heart. The part in which Merrick asked Sherry if she was cheating on him with Cain. That part and the few chapters after that just broke me. I knew Piper was behind it! Shelly Crane really had me worried.

Danial is interesting. He's a Lighter but goes from bad to good after seeing Lillian. He also helps out Sherry at the end of the book. I like Danial, but He's not my favorite.

And then there's Lily. Lily is three year old girl whom Sherry and Merrick adopt. I love the cute family moments they have.

Two characters have birthdays in this book. Sherry turns twenty and Calvin turns twelve, I think.

I like that all the Specials have super powers. Cain's power is especially awesome.

I love this book. Shelly Crane is amazing.
