Anne of Avonlea by L. M. Montgomery Book Review!

Anne of Avonlea is the sequel to Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery.

Spoilers!

Anne and Gilbert start teaching school while doing their own school work. Anne and Marlla take in orphan twins named Davy and Dora Keith who could not be more different. Dora is sweet and obedient and Davy is almost always getting into trouble but, like Dora, is very cute. Anne matures in this book but is still getting into trouble.

Anne is still amazing and one of my favorite characters in fiction.Anne and Gilbert's are now friends but we sadly don't see a lot of Gilbert in the book.

I love Dora and Davy, They are so cute. I love Anne's relationship with the twins, especially with Davy. I think Anne understand Davy because they both seem to have way of getting into trouble.

Something big happens to Diana in this book, in which Fred Wright proposes to her.

Mrs. Lynde's husband dies and she moves in to Green Gables With Anne, Marilla, and the twins, which means Anne can actually go to college soon.

Some of my favorite parts is when Anne accidentally dyes her nose red and everyone was giving her weird looks but Anne had no idea until Diana told her. I also like the part when Anne thought she soled her cow but actually soled her neighbor's cow. That is also one of my favorite parts of the movie, too.

I really enjoyed this book. I definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series.

Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery Book Review!

I'm finally going to review Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. One of my favorite books of all time!

SPOILERS!!!

The book takes place in the fictional town of Avonlea in Plinces Edward Island, and is about a girl named Anne Shirley who is adopted by Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew who originally wanted a boy, but keep Anne anyway. Over the course of the book, Anne gets into a lot of trouble in some very amusing ways.

Anne is one of my favorite heroins in fiction. She's talkative, imaginative, a hopeless romantic, and has a bad temper. Anne is almost always getting into trouble. I love the part when she tried to dye her red hair black but it turned green instead. I also love the part when Anne is laying down in a boat and it starts sinking. It crosses under a bridge and Anne is hangs onto the bridge and Gilbert comes to the rescue. I love that part but I like it more in the movie then in the book.

I love Gilbert Blythe! I love him with Anne! The first time we meet Gilbert he is when teases Anne about her red hair and calls her "Carrots". Anne retaliates by smashing his slate on his head so hard it shatters. Through out the book Anne holds a grudge against Gilbert after that, but they eventually become friends by the end of the book.

Diana Barry is Anne's best friend. Diana isn't as imaginative as Anne is, and described as being very pretty with raven black hair. I like the friendship between Anne and Dianna.

I love Marilla and Matthew. Matthew is a shy, quiet man who never married. Matthew likes Anne right away and the two become fast friends. Marilla is the one in charge of Anne. She's hard and strict, but eventually warms up to Anne.

I don't really like Rachel Lynde to much. She's very Candor (divergent reference!), Out spoken, and gossipy. She openly insults Anne's looks and, Anne insults her back. Rachel and Marilla have an unlikely friendship.

L. M Montgomery's writing style is fantastic. I love how she described Avonlea and Prince Edward Island. She made it look so beautiful, and is one of the main reasons why I want to go there.

I love this book so much! I highly recommend it.

Collide by Shelly Crane Book Review!

When I read this book I wasn't really into it, but now I feel like I shouldn't have kept putting it of. It's amazing and one of my favorite books.

Sherry is an awesome character. She's a little different from Maggie (from Significance). Maggie was quiet but not afraid to stand up for herself, neither is Sherry, but Sherry, to me, seemed to come off more serious then Maggie. Sherry kind of a take charge kind of person, but since she's so small and frail looking people tend to find her very nonthreatening, like she's the one who needs protection the most. Even Merrick acts this way sometimes. But that probably isn't that far-fetch because they pointed out later in the series that Sherry couldn't hurt them even if she wanted to. But a female character doesn't need to be physically strong to be an awesome character.

Merrick is beyond amazing! I love him and Sherry! He is so sweet, and caring, and he kicks butt.

Another character I really love is Jeff. I love his and Sherry's friendship, and Jeff and Merrick's bromance is one of my favorite things ever. And Jeff and Marissa. Nothing really happens between them in this book, I just like their relationship. At Jeff seems to hate her for what she did to Sherry, but then you see little scenes of them sitting together, laughing and smiling. I think Sherry totally ships it.

I like Danny a little. He and Celeste are cute together.

I also really like Ryan and Calvin. Ryan is such a sweet guy who you can't help but love, and Calvin is so cute.

This book was really good. If you're a fan of Shelly Crane I definitely recommend it.
