Catalyst by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Hi!

I'm back and I'm finally reviewing Catalyst, which is the third book in the Collide series by Shelly Crane.

Taking place immediately after Uprising, Sherry being tortured by the Lighters. but is saved by her friends. Cain has completely fallen for Lillian, and Lily's powers are getting stronger.

SPOILER ALERT!

One my favorite things in this series is the relationship between Sherry and Merrick, and their daughter Lily. It just so adorable and I love it! Sherry and Merrick are one of OTPs. I love them so much!

Another couple that's adorable is Jeff and Marissa. They are so cute, especially in this book. I TOTALLY KNOW SHE WAS PREGNANT! I WAS RIGHT! I love that the four year-old knew she was pregnant and just dropped the ball in front of everyone!

Cain and Lillian are one of my favorite couples of the series. They are amazing, and just so lovable. At this point they obviously are in love with each other.

Danial is okay. He a really good guy. I just tend to get a little territorial about my OTPs so everytime he talked about how much he loves Lillian I kind of was like "NO! NO! HECK NO!" But really, Danial is a good guy.

And holy cow! That ending! What a cliffhanger! What the heck!!!

But seriously, this book is awesome, and I highly recommend it.

Bye for now!

Uprising by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Today I'm reviewing Uprising by Shelly Crane, which is the second book in the Collide series. WARNING: SPOILERS!!!

So much happens in this book. Sherry and Merrick's little group is getting bigger and bigger, and the Taker is getting creepier and creepier. The Specials getting strange powers for no apparent reason (This technically happened in the last book, but I forgot to mention it).

What makes this book different from the last one is that we get Cain and Lillian's POV's, not just Sherry and Merrick's. I love Cain and Lillian! We also get the Taker's POV sometimes, too.

Shelly Crane really pulled on my my heart strings this time. Cain and Lillian are so cute! They are so good together that you can't help but ship it. And Jeff and Marissa finally got together! The are so cute and everyone finding out was hilarious. If you're anything like me then you'll have four or five OTPs by the end of the series.

Cain at one point admits that he is in love with Sherry. I disliked that part not because I didn't like Cain, but because I really don't like love triangles. But Cain is a really good guy and doesn't act on his feelings toward Sherry. All in all I really like Cain's relationship with Sherry and Merrick.

I also like Lillian and Sherry's friendship. In the last book Lillian was in, like, one part (she may have been in more but I don't remember). After her husband's death, Lillian is trying to move on and seems to really drawn to Cain. I really love the part when Lillian goes to rescue Cain.

And then Shelly Crane did a thing that broke my heart. The part in which Merrick asked Sherry if she was cheating on him with Cain. That part and the few chapters after that just broke me. I knew Piper was behind it! Shelly Crane really had me worried.

Danial is interesting. He's a Lighter but goes from bad to good after seeing Lillian. He also helps out Sherry at the end of the book. I like Danial, but He's not my favorite.

And then there's Lily. Lily is three year old girl whom Sherry and Merrick adopt. I love the cute family moments they have.

Two characters have birthdays in this book. Sherry turns twenty and Calvin turns twelve, I think.

I like that all the Specials have super powers. Cain's power is especially awesome.

I love this book. Shelly Crane is amazing.

Wide Open by Shelly Crane Book Review!

I'm FINALLY reviewing Wide Open by Shelly Crane. This is the sequel to Wide Awake and Wide Spaces. You can read this book by it self but I recommend reading the other books first. Warning: SPOILERS!!!

This book is about Mason's brother Milo and a girl named Maya. Milo is a drug addict who's been clean for two years. Maya is also an addict who's been clean for four years, and works as a counselor for kids who have problems with drugs. The book is about them falling a love and learning trust each other, running into a whole lot of heartbreak along the way.

When we first meet Milo in Wide Awake he was rude, and we only saw him for a second in Wide Spaces to see Mason's and Emma's wedding. He was also rude to Mason and Emma in the first chapter too. But skip two years into the future and Milo is a completely differently person who I never expected to love so much. He meets some people who helped him get clean. Milo is actually a really sweet person, and you can't help but love him.

Maya is also very awesome. Maya's back story is very sad. Her mother died and that got her into doing drugs in the first place, and then her father helped stop and then he died, and to top it off: her brother is dying of cancer. Yeah, it's hard not to cry when reading Maya's POV. I'm also proud of Maya for not giving in and taking the drink even though she wanted to. She didn't want to throw four years of being sober down the drain, and she didn't want Milo and her brother to be disappointed in her.

I love Milo and Maya as a couple! It's sweet yet heartbreaking at the same time. I love that Milo always calls Maya sweetheart, and I love their thing with fortune cookies. If you read Wide Awake and Wide Spaces you'd know that Mason and Emma's thing is the books full of useless facts, Milo and Maya have fortune cookies and it's so cute. My favorite fortunes in the book are "I cannot help you, for I am just a cookie." and "The best feeling in life: to love and be loved.", and Maya's fortune was beautiful and is one of my favorite quotes of the book.

I don't think I've ever cried at a Shelly Crane book. Ever. I was crying mostly at Maya's parts then I did at Milo's parts. I cried at the part when they're going to see the new baby and Maya said that she always be there for him with her arms wide open to welcome him home, and Mason and Milo's reunion, and Will dying, and the ending.

I don't do drugs and I never will, but I knew some stuff about drugs and addicts before reading this book, but reading a story told by people who went through it really snapped things into perspective. Like when I read The Fault in Our Stars, I knew about cancer but I didn't really know about cancer until I've read about someone who is going through it. That's how i feel with Wide Open because I know about drug abuse and such but I didn't know until I read this book, because all Milo and Maya want is to be forgiven for the things they did in the past and they feel like they can't be forgiven. And Mason tells Milo that all he ever wanted was for him to come back home (excuse me while I cry).

All in all, this is a fantastic read. I highly recommend it, but I suggest you have tissues ready.

Wide Spaces by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Wide Spaces by Shelly Crane is a novella that takes place after Wide Awake. I mention in my past reviews that I love Shelly Crane's books and this one is no exception.

Warning: Spoilers!

This novella Is narrated by both Emma and Mason's POV. Mason's POV is awesome. There's is also some really sweet Mason and Emma moments that made me love them more then I originally did. Mason still blames himself for what happened to his mother, and he is able to move on when she tells him that she trusted him and that it wasn't his fault.

Emma gets stranded in a blizzard, and Mason, being the awesome man he is, saves her just in nick of time. And it ended with Emma's and Mason's wedding and honeymoon.

And the part that really made me happy was that Mason's brother Milo came to their wedding! For some reason it made very happy. In Wide Awake we didn't know a lot about Milo except that he hates Mason and blames him for what happened to their mom, so to see him at the wedding kind of showed that he still loved his brother.

All in all, this novella was awesome, but let's be real, anything Shelly Crane writes is awesome.

Wide Awake by Shelly Crane Book Review!

In case you couldn't tell I am a huge Shelly Crane fan. This time I'm reviewing a book in one of her other series: Wide Awake.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Emma wakes up from six month coma and she doesn't remember anything of her life. The more she learns about the person she used to be the more she doesn't want to be the old her, and ends up falling for her physical therapist Mason.

I love this book so much! If I was in Emma's shoes and I found out I've done the things she did I wouldn't want anything to do with the old me. But Emma gives being the old her a try and she hates it. It makes her want to be a better person.

And Mason. I. Love. Mason. He is so sweet! I love how he is with Emma, and his mom. I just love him! I need more Mason and Emma in my life!

I didn't really like Emma's "friends", or Andrew. I didn't really like her parents in the beginning. They wanted the old Emma back and seemed to oblivious to the fact that the old Emma was a brat.

This book had my attention from the first chapter, I think. The plot wasn't really an uncommon one (the the series finale of Full House comes to mind), but at the same time it was different. Emma tries to be the person she once was, but the more she ties the more she she wants nothing to do with the person she used to be.

Mason's story was sad. the whole thing with his mom and his brother and how he blames himself. And when Emma said she's not leaving him, that part was so sweet!

I really love this book.

Independence by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Hi!

I'm back to review another Shelly Crane, Independence, the fourth book in the Significance series.

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!

I this it's finally happening! CALEB AND MAGGIE GET MARRIED!!!! So does Kyle and Lynne!!! And Bish and Jen!!! But, of course, the Watsons have to try to ruin everything! This might be my favorite of the series.

I don't think I have to explain my obsession with CalebxMaggie (whatever their shipping name is). I talked about this in past reviews. I also love Lynne and Kyle. They're so cute! And Bish and Jen are finally together, I'm really happy about that.

The people I didn't like were Maggie's mom and Marcus. They are seriously annoying! Another thing I didn't like was Beck's additude when she found out that Maggie was an Ace. I mean, seriously. Why in books, TV shows, and movies when someone has mutant powers and everyone else calls them freaks? If my best friend told me she had powers I'd happy and maybe a little bit jealous.

I also love that the book made two Imagine Dragons references! I love them!

And the epilogue was so cute!!! I'm glad Caleb and Maggie got the happy ending they deserve.

I couldn't have asked for a better ending. Thank you Shelly Crane for this amazing book series.

Defiance by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Hi!

Defiance is the third book in the Significance series by Shelly Crane. It's been a while since I reviewed a book in this series but I  dot books three and four recently and I'm ready to review them.

Spoilers ahead! Read at your on risk!

The book takes place immediately after the second one, and Maggie, Caleb, the rest of the Jacobson family are at the Reunification and things aren't exactly smooth sailing. The counsel want Maggie to stay permanently, Marla and Marcus are jerks, but what else is new.

I love this book! Caleb and Maggie are the best!!! The Caleb and Maggie moments are always going to be my favorite parts. I love that Maggie broke Caleb out of jail, and that she stands up to Donald. I just like Maggie as a character.

I love Caleb with a passion. His character is awesome, he is so sweet. and I love how he is toward Maggie.

I love Caleb's family. I love Peter more than I did before. Seeing him defend his family against Donald was awesome, because we see kind of a different side too him. And I love Gran. She is spunky sweet. and Maria was cute and she says one of me favorite quotes from the book.

And Bish and Jen finally imprinted!!! FINALLY!!! And Maggie's dad imprinted which I liked. Fiona is a HUGE step up to Maggie's mom.

Two of my least favorite characters died and I can honestly say that I wont miss them. And why did Rodney have to die? Why?!

I highly recommend this book. Shelly Crane never disappoints.

That's all I wanted to say.

Bye.

Collide by Shelly Crane Book Review!

When I read this book I wasn't really into it, but now I feel like I shouldn't have kept putting it of. It's amazing and one of my favorite books.

Sherry is an awesome character. She's a little different from Maggie (from Significance). Maggie was quiet but not afraid to stand up for herself, neither is Sherry, but Sherry, to me, seemed to come off more serious then Maggie. Sherry kind of a take charge kind of person, but since she's so small and frail looking people tend to find her very nonthreatening, like she's the one who needs protection the most. Even Merrick acts this way sometimes. But that probably isn't that far-fetch because they pointed out later in the series that Sherry couldn't hurt them even if she wanted to. But a female character doesn't need to be physically strong to be an awesome character.

Merrick is beyond amazing! I love him and Sherry! He is so sweet, and caring, and he kicks butt.

Another character I really love is Jeff. I love his and Sherry's friendship, and Jeff and Merrick's bromance is one of my favorite things ever. And Jeff and Marissa. Nothing really happens between them in this book, I just like their relationship. At Jeff seems to hate her for what she did to Sherry, but then you see little scenes of them sitting together, laughing and smiling. I think Sherry totally ships it.

I like Danny a little. He and Celeste are cute together.

I also really like Ryan and Calvin. Ryan is such a sweet guy who you can't help but love, and Calvin is so cute.

This book was really good. If you're a fan of Shelly Crane I definitely recommend it.

Accordance by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Hello!

I'm finally gonna review Accordance, the second book in the Significance series by Shelly Crane.  I love this book maybe more then the first one! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!

Maggie and Caleb go into hiding because the people who kidnapped Maggie are still out there. And Maggie learn that she's some sort of visionary and has to lead the Aces.

Let's talk about Maggie and Caleb first. In case you didn't know I am a huge Maggie and Caleb shipper. They are awesome together.   And when Caleb asked Maggie to marry him, we're talking major fangirl moment.

Kyle got on my nerves so many times.  I'm not a fan of love triangles.  And then a girl named Lynn came and imprinted on Kyle and I was like "Yay!", now Kyle is in love with Lynn, and there are no more love triangles (I hope).

And I understand what the cover of the fourth book is about, with the red dress and stuff!  I get it!

All in all, this is a great story.  I love and will re-read it again and again.

Bye.

Significance by Shelly Crane Book Review!

Hello.

Significance is the first book in the Significance series by Shelly Crane.  Let me start by saying that I love this book, I couldn't put it down.  As always, there are spoilers.

The story is about a girl named Maggie who just graduated high school.  On her way to a friends house she meets Caleb and saves him from being run over buy a truck, and when they shake hands Maggie see's visions of her and Caleb together.  Maggie is imprinted to Caleb, which means she's Significant or soul mate, and that Caleb and his family are Aces, who are people with special abilities.

One thing I love how it's fantasy without it being like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, It was different than most YA fantasy books and that's one of the things I loved about this book.

And who else just loves Caleb and Maggie? They are so cut together! This is one the best romances I've Ever read about.

I also like Caleb's family.  They are really sweet, and welcome Maggie almost immediately. One member of Caleb's family who I don't like is Kyle.  He's so annoying. Plus I don't really like love triangles.  but this isn't exactly a love triangle because Maggie knows that she wants to be with Caleb and Caleb wants to be with her, so Kyle doesn't really have a chance.

I also like Maggie's friend, Beck; she reminds me of Macey from the Gallagher Girls series.

I didn't like Maggie's parents at first, but I started liking her did more, but her mom, not so much.  I don't think Ill ever like Maggie's mom.

That's all for now.

Bye.
